
NOTIFICATION FOR CERTIFICATE COURSE IN COMPUTER ON OFFICE AUTOMATION (COA) & GOVERNMENT TECHNICAL EXAMINATIONS (GTE) FEBRUARY – 2026
Applications are invited for the Computer on Office Automation (COA) course and the Government Technical Examinations (GTE) in Commerce Subjects (Typewriting, Shorthand, and Accountancy), to be conducted under a new, unified system from February 2026. This notification combines the processes for both COA and GTE in Computer-Based Examination (CBE) and Traditional Method of Examination (TME). COA & GTE Exam Official Website : tndtegteonline.in

III. NEW REFORM PROCESS AND EXAMINATION MODE
This examination adopts a new one-time registration process and offers flexible examination modes:
A. Registration and Enrollment
- One-Time Registration: Candidates must complete a single registration that includes all pre-qualifications for all subjects they intend to appear for.
- Enrollment Choice:
○ Enrollment is permitted through an approved Institution or as a Private candidate for TME.
○ Enrollment for COA, Computer-Based Typewriting, and Computer-Based Shorthand subjects is permitted as direct enrollment only. - Facilitation Centres: Applications of all Candidates / Institutions will be mapped to Facilitation Centres in each district for Verification and Grievance Redressal (if any).
- Practice and Preparation:
○ For CBE: Candidates must engage in mandatory practice through the online Learning Management System (LMS) provided by the DoTE for all CBE.
○ For TME: Candidates must have undergone 3 months of Training as on the date of Publication of this Notification either through Approved Commerce Institutions or by Self-Learning. - Model Test: A Model Test will be conducted for all Computer-Based Test (CBE) subjects. This does not apply to TME.
